A Category 1 hurricane forecast to strengthen before landfall late Friday or early Saturday, most likely between the Mississippi coast and the western Florida Panhandle. Hurricane warnings run from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, to the Bay/Gulf county line in Florida.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911. We are not an emergency service and our storm line is not monitored around the clock.
Evacuation orders come from your county, not from us. Find local information at floridadisaster.org and leave when officials tell you to leave. If pets or transportation are making evacuation difficult, contact us and we will see whether we can help identify an option.
What we offer
What we can help with
Storm damage documentation
Once winds drop and it is safe to fly, an FAA-certified remote pilot can survey visible roof and property damage and provide a written report. You keep the report for your records.
Help finding aid
SBA disaster loans are available to eligible homeowners and renters, not only businesses. We can help you understand FEMA, SBA, and local programs and work through the application process.
Phone and data plans
Phone or data plans may be available for people who lose service after the storm.
A line answered by a person
Ask about evacuation zones, windows, medical equipment, pets, or other practical storm questions.
Where we are
Being honest about where we are
FLP is based in Tampa Bay. This storm is forecast to affect areas several hours away, where we do not have the same local relationships we have at home.
For that reason, our first priority is to stay reachable and coordinate with local emergency management, 211, and organizations already serving the affected communities rather than arrive without coordination.
Our work may also become more useful in the weeks after the storm, when families are documenting damage, working through claims, and looking for recovery assistance.
If you represent an organization in the affected area, use our partner form to tell us what your community needs.

Aerial survey of storm damage along the Gulf Coast
Use an FLP photograph taken during the response or properly licensed imagery with documentation on file.
After a storm, good documentation matters. If your property is damaged, photograph conditions before repairs begin when it is safe to do so, keep receipts, and maintain copies of any reports or correspondence related to the damage.
What to do after a storm
Are you an organization in the path?
Churches, food pantries, senior centers, mobile home communities, clinics, and other local organizations often know which families need help long before we do. Tell us who you serve and what people are asking for.
