Non-Discrimination Policy
Effective Date: 05/11/2025
The Florida Lantern Project (FLP) is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and respectful environment in all of our programs, partnerships, and services. We believe that every person deserves access to support, dignity, and safet, especially in times of crisis,
FLP does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of:
Race
Color
Ethnicity
National origin
Citizenship or immigration status
Age
Religion or creed
Disability (physical or mental)
Gender
Gender identity or expression
Sexual orientation
Marital or parental status
Socioeconomic status
Any other characteristic protected by applicable law
We stand in firm solidarity with LGBTQ+ individuals and families, and we actively work to create a welcoming space for transgender, nonbinary, and queer people. Our programs, services, and volunteer opportunities are inclusive of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
We also recognize the vital contributions and unique vulnerabilities of immigrant and undocumented communities. We do not require proof of citizenship to receive aid or participate in our programs, and we strongly oppose policies or actions that place immigrant communities at greater risk during times of crisis. For those concerned about immigration, please refer to section 3 of our privacy policy.
This policy applies to all aspects of our operations, including hiring, volunteer recruitment, outreach, services offered, partnerships, and the design and implementation of all programs. Violations of this policy may be grounds for termination of employment, volunteer service, or vendor relationship.
FLP affirms the inherent worth of every person. We believe our strength comes from our diversity, and our mission is only fulfilled when all are included.
