2025: A Culinary Journey Through Florida
Our first gala was held June 7, 2025, in downtown Tampa. The seven-course dinner traced chapters of Florida history alongside stories from families FLP helped during Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Guests heard Peter’s story of evacuating a dorm with a cat no shelter would take; Maria’s experience navigating roof damage and an SBA disaster loan; and Amy’s story of facing two hurricanes 13 days apart with two children and three pets. Tampa Mayor Jane Castor also recorded a message recognizing grassroots disaster response.
